Wexford Carol
This traditional Irish Christmas carol has been adapted for TTBB unaccompanied chorus with a semi-chorus of tenor, baritone and bass soloists.
Considered one of the oldest known carols from Ireland, this arrangement paints a vivid picture of the Nativity story with soaring melodic lines and colourful harmonic progressions.
While this is possible with a small group of low-voice singers, it is best suited to a large group of singers.
This piece is dedicated to The Vocal Consort and premiered at the Melbourne Recital Centre on 10 December 2023.
